A Blue Moment

This week, we’re all about blues; thanks to this beautiful shot we found on Gather Journal. Isn't it lovely?

Our new mood also has something to do with the arrival of illustrator Fanny Shorter’s kaleidoscopic prints at Roost which, with their cool hues, adorn notebooks and accessories that will take pride-of-place upon desktops or dotted around the home.

You can see Fanny's full collection here, or for more inspiration, take a peek at our favourite blue-hued Roost Living pieces below.

Calling all stitchers and sewers!

Our latest arrivals here at Roost are just the thing to tickle stitchers' and sewers' fancy; cross stitch kits by What Delilah Did.

Sophie Simpson, a "perpetual dreamer and purveyor of extraordinary things", so she describes herself, is the designer behind these adorable sets that come complete with easy to follow instructions. Try your hand at the the crochet key, or if you're feeling adventurous, how about the Libellule cushion? They make lovely gifts when finished, too.

Shop the kits and other new arrivals, right here.

Introducing our children’s collection

Great news - seeing as Christmas is quite literally round the corner - we just launched our brand new, rather lovely children’s collection. With lots of things to choose from, including a wonderful patchwork floor cushion, we thought we’d share a few of our favourite pieces.

Fine wine's perfect complement (other than cheese!)

Nothing much beats unwinding in the evening with a glass of just-poured Shiraz, especially when it's decanted from one of these carafes that are too eye-catching to stow away.

Crack out the crystal tumblers, dish out the camembert - it's time to up the ante on your evening tipple!

Two ways to set the Christmas table

Here at Roost Living, not only are we looking forward to decking the halls, home (and garden!) but we're also thinking about setting the table for a season full of festive get-togethers.

Bird prints and hints of gold are top of mind for us, laying the all-too-expected red tablecloths to rest and paving the way to a more modern supper setting.

How will you be adorning your Christmas table this year?

Batty about bird prints

Fashion and homeware designers forever return to the beauty of the bird for inspiration. Sparrows decorate jewellery, pigeons rest upon cushions, and finches flutter over crockery - but what is it about these sky-wanderers that we are so drawn to?

Perhaps it’s that more often than not, our feathered friends are seen as a symbol of the soul – soaring free, high up in the sky. Doves have long since represented peace and that old fellow, the magpie, well; he certainly has a lot to answer for!

While we’re having a bit of a birdbrain moment, we thought we’d share a few of our favourite chirpy chaps – which is your favourite?

Introducing Petite Polly

Meet Petite Polly – she’s the latest arrival at Roost Living, and we’re quite taken by her flair for all that’s unique.

This fine mare is designed by Matrushka and made by a small team of Cotswolds-based artisans, who have crafted her from a complementary mix of reclaimed materials including walnut, antique mirrored glass and a lock (or two) of real horse hair. There really isn't a piece of home décor quite like her!
